西平畑公園は神奈川県の足柄郡松田山の中腹にある公園で小田原城や大島、富士山、丹沢の山々の大パノラマが望める眺望抜群のスポットです。2月ごろから咲き始める早咲きの桜を求めて毎年多くの観光客が訪れて、一足早い春の訪れを楽しみます。残念ながら昨年と今年は新形コロナウィルス感染防止のために桜祭りが中止となりました。来年は是非開催してほしいものです。
